A voice during the trailer states that there are 'monsters roaming when they should be hibernating', suggesting the Continent has a monster problem. Towards the end of the trailer we also see Geralt and Ciri facing off a tree-like woodland monster, which may be a Treant.
A man-sized bat can be seen approaching from behind this could well be a Fleder, a type of vampire.
Witchers are, of course, employed chiefly as monster hunters, and we get a good glimpse of a few of the horrors Geralt will face on his travels this season. Of note is the appearance of Ciri, who - clad in leathers and lacking her royal attire - is presumably taking training from Geralt at Kaer Morhen. The trailer bounces between all of The Witcher's many storylines, including that of Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer, but also features a host of new characters that will presumably introduce new story arcs in season 2.
